Sarah Kathryn White (nee Wagner) of Katy, TX, passed away on May 26, 2024, at the age of 67. She was born on May 23, 1957, in Corpus Christi, TX. Sarah was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and nurse. Her grandkids affectionately called her Meme, a name she cherished dearly.
As a "westsider", Sarah attended Oak Park Elementary, Driscoll Jr High and graduated from Miller High school in 1975. Tap dance class with Mrs. Olszewski at Oak Park Recreation Center, "the Rec" was a favorite pastime for her in her youth.
Her maternal grandfather, Dr. Paul S Johnson, a Presbyterian minister, baptized Sarah at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church. Our family attended St Thomas Episcopal Church where Sarah had completed her Rites of Confirmation at 15 years of age.
Sarah began her career in the medical field after graduating from Del Mar College obtaining her Associates Degree and LVN certificate. She later pursued her RN license and passed the state boards specializing in Labor & Delivery/OB/GYN ward at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital, where she found joy in witnessing the miracle of new life. Sarah retired from nursing in 2016.
She is survived by her son, Zachary (Morgan), and daughter Melissa (Jeffrey). Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, FrankS. Wagner Jr. and Marian]. Wagner, as well as her sister, Elizabeth Anne Wagner.
Meme's grandkids are Zamaryian, Blakely, Katie, and Zoey. She was the youngest of the third set of twins in her family, twin to Martha Ramirez (Ysrael), and survived by her eldest sister, Lucy, Marian Cones (Paul) and Frank, along with numerous nephews, nieces & cousins. Her beloved puppy dog, Bentley, also survives her.
Sarah will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with her compassionate care and unwavering love.
