Lori Jean Owens

Lori was born August 6, 1966 in Fort Stockton, TX to Clayton and Faye Thomas. She graduated from Dewey High School in Dewey, OK and received an Associates Degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. She resided in Katy, Texas since 2001.

After moving to Texas in the 90’s; Lori entered the oil and gas industry and mainly worked as a document control specialist, and especially enjoyed her time when working on the off shore side of the industry. Lori loved learning about how all the equipment worked and taking care of her team. Through the years of her career, Lori helped create document control systems for different companies, ran her own departments, and made many friends. Outside of work Lori enjoyed spending time with family and friends, deepening her faith walk, going on motorcycle road trips with her husband John, loved being a band mom not only to her daughter but to other band members/students as well, reading, and trying new restaurants.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind her loving husband of 33 years, John Owens, Jr. of Katy, TX; daughter, Courtney Owens of Katy, TX; brother, Jeff Thomas of Copan, OK; sister, Paula Thomas Smith of Sugar Land, TX and Sonya Davis of Caney, KS and nieces and nephews; Terra Breault, Clayton Thomas, Benjamin Thomas, Meagan Smith, Andrew Davis and Tyler Davis and other family and special friends.

Lori was a Great Wife and Mother and a good/dear friend to many people and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service is to be held in the chapel of Katy Funeral Home (23350 Kingsland Blvd. Katy, TX 77494) at a later time. For those out of town or unable to come to the service; streaming of the service will be available.
