Loraine Pulito Brady

From early on in life Loraine had her sights set on becoming a nurse. After being a “candy striper“ and president of the future nurses organization, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson high school. Then she attended Lamar University, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas. Her first job was at Methodist Hospital in Houston as an RN. She eventually became the departmental nurse for Baylor College of Medicine at Methodist Hospital. Loraine was an excellent Nurse and carried the title with pride.

Loraine and Jim met as a blind date for a Halloween dance party in 1964. They became a dedicated couple and married in 1967. As a wife (or impending wife), Loraine was able to talk Jim into staying in school, finishing his degree and receiving a commission in the United States Navy reserve. In 1972, their son Jason was born and shortly after, they moved to Simonton Texas. After Jason started elementary school, Loraine re-entered the medical field as a medical surgical RN in Katy. She had several other positions at the hospital until she retired. After a period of retirement, she missed the healthcare connection and began working for insurance companies as an infection control consultant. She traveled to many different healthcare facilities to review their practices and procedures for infection control. When her husband retired she chose to follow him in retirement.

Loraine was an excellent and nurturing mother. Loraine tended to a variety of needs for their son Jason. Jason later developed an incurable disease, and while he was able to live on his own for a time, eventually he succumbed to complications from pancreatitis and passed away in 2000, at the age of 28.

Loraine enjoyed gardening and flower arranging, reading, travel, and later in life, quilting. As a business minded person she was the "queen of the spreadsheet," and managed the family business with skill.

Loraine is pre-deceased by her Mother and Father, and her son, Jason. She is survived by her husband, Jim and his family; her brother, Vincent Pulito and his son, Brian; daughter in-law, Felicity and their daughter Kimberly.

Loraine was a great wife and they were married for 56 years. Jim is unsure of what he'll do without her, what he does know is he has 59 years of great memories to lean on.
