Karen Cecile Scheiner

Karen lived her life filled with love and devotion to her family. Anyone who knew Karen described her as thoughtful and giving. She spent many years supporting her kids at soccer games, cross country meets, and innumerable dance competitions. She was a gorgeous, kind, and, above all, loving wife. She treasured acts of kindness and creating joy in the lives of the people who surrounded her. Karen had class and style. You could often find her in her rooster-themed kitchen as head chef creating fantastic meals for family and friends.

God gifted Karen with a unique talent and an artistic eye. She expressed her creativity through an affinity for sewing and quilting. She admired Impressionist painting and enjoyed creating her own works of art. Her creativity extended to her love of music, in particular traditional Celtic music and the works of Mozart. She was a gifted pianist and passed that talent on to her son, Jonathan. She enjoyed attending the annual Nutcracker Ballet to watch the artistry of the dancers on stage and to listen to the harmony of the Orchestra below. Karen’s favorite place to be in the entire world was the deck of the family cabin in Pinedale, Wyoming. The smell of fresh pine and campfires lingering in the air, as she looked out into the pink and orange sunset with her family close by was her greatest treasure.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Sam Scheiner; her children, Jonathan Scheiner and wife Samantha, and Bridget Scheiner; her brother Rex Headd and wife Shannon and brother-in-law Mike Scheiner and wife Diane.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Katy Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A reception will be held immediately following the service.
