Ismael Latorre, cherished husband, father, son, and brother, peacefully passed away on April 19, 2024, in Houston, Texas. Born on October 16, 1953, to Julia and Jose Ismael Latorre. Ismael embraced a rich life surrounded by his family and grounded in deep religious principles from a young age. Regrettably, his mother, Julia, passed away when Ismael was just nine years old. His father, Jose Ismael, later married Sofia Villanueva, and together they continued to nurture Ismael within a framework of unwavering family unity and faith.
Ismael encountered his cherished partner, Sonia Latorre, in Brooklyn, New York, initiating a deep and lasting union spanning fifty-two years. They joyously raised three children, embraced grandchildren, and fostered close ties with extended family. Marrying at the young age of eighteen, Ismael found profound happiness in building a family filled with daily love. Sonia was his constant companion, and the entire family surrounded him in a cocoon of love and serenity throughout his life. He was always very proud of his children’s triumphs and accomplishments.
Ismael was a humble, tender man and was known for his unwavering loyalty, commitment, responsibility, a sense of humor, his love for God, his family and friends, and his sense of style. Since very young, was known for his elegance and wearing ties. He found joy in the companionship of his furry babies Moty and Mona who sadly passed away 13 years ago. His journey was marked by dedication, integrity, and support for his family, friends, and community at church. His wisdom and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire us.
Ismael's family extends heartfelt thanks for the love and support shown during this difficult time. They welcome all who knew him to join in celebrating his life and the positive impact he had on the countless ways Ismael made the world a better place. God was first place for him in his life and he was not afraid to confront any obstacle until the very end of his life’s journey.
As we say goodbye to Ismael Latorre, we hold tight to the lessons he taught us through his example: The value of working hard, the importance of your family, and faith and the enduring power of a smile.
