Helen Ann Pivirotto

Helen was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on January 25, 1959 to John and Maria Maslo.

Her calling for serving others with a heart of compassion placed her in the healthcare setting at the early age of 16, where she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Pivirotto. She continued her passion of service and graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1981, becoming a registered nurse. She worked the entirety of her 36 year career in the emergency department.

Often neglecting the needs of herself for the needs and well-being of her many friends and family, she was unselfish to a fault.

Helen was a very special mother to her two daughters, and was an outstanding example of a true matriarch. She was blessed with a green thumb, and took great pride in gardening, but her greatest joy was her beloved grandson, Michael, whom she adored.

To say that her family and friends will miss her is an understatement. Between the many patients she unconditionally cared for, fellow nurses (especially her good friends), and the doctors she worked with, Helen was a well-respected and cherished colleague.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maria Maslo, and her husband of 34 years, Robert “Bob” Pivirotto.

She leaves behind daughter, Christina Pivirotto and husband, Justin of Houston, Texas; daughter, Katherine Pivirotto and husband, Amani of Houston, Texas; grandson, Michael; sister, Nina Ready of Mystic, Connecticut; brother, Basil Maslo of Trumbull, Connecticut; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Faith Pivirotto of Franklin, Vermont; brother-in-law, Ed Pivirotto of Gainesville, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Arnie Bohanon of Radford, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Judy Pivirotto of Bristol, Virginia; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Helen wished for a private funeral to be held with her family, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
