Esteban Rubio Rodriguez

Esteban Rubio Rodriguez, age 68, of Richmond, Texas passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Esteban Rodriguez, fondly known as Steve, was born in Newgulf, Texas to Alejandro and Aurora Rodriguez on July 11, 1954.

While Steve left us far too soon, the impact he has on our family and friends will be felt for years to come. Steve had a passion for drafting, which flourished into a career as a draftsman in Engineering Senior Pipe Design for over 47 years. He excelled at building strong relationships with many of his colleagues in the oil and gas industry and WOOD, formerly known as Mustang Engineering.

Steve held many titles in his life but his favorite role was being a loving husband and father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and creating long lasting memories. As a family man, he was always there for them, whether he was helping them with the challenges of life or supporting their lifelong dreams. His wife Irma, along with his children, Steve G, Shelly, Edmundo (Alex) and his late son Andrew, will be his legacy. Steve was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting, sports, fishing, and cooking BBQ just to name a few. This is what he was especially known for to many of his dearest friends and family. Steve also loved taking family vacations. Spending time with his family brought incredible joy to his life, and those memories will be cherished forever. Steve proudly stood by his family and friends as a man who was a dedicated husband, father, brother, son and uncle for which he will be sorely missed.

Esteban "Steve" Rodriguez is survived by his wife Irma Calderon Rodriguez, and children Steve G Rodriguez, Shelly Rodriguez, Edmundo (Alex) Rodriguez, his brothers Alejandro Rodriguez Jr. and Ray Rodriguez, sisters Emma De La Cruz and Sally Stark (Steven) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Esteban was preceded in death by his son Andrew Daniel Rodriguez. A visitation for Esteban will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd in Katy, Texas. A Funeral Service will occur at Katy Funeral Home on Saturday March 4, 2023 at 2:00PM.
