Ms. Chavez was born October 3, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas to Hilario Avila and Cardee DeLa Rosa. Antonia was a long-time resident of Katy, Texas and attended South San High School in San Antionio, Texas, where she met her high school sweetheart Julio Fematt Chavez. In 1977 Antonia and Julio moved to Houston, Texas to start their life together. Antonia was employed by Randalls for 32 years when she retired in 2016. Antonia enjoyed spending time with her family and was described as having an amazing beautiful and caring soul.
Antonia leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years, Julio Fematt Chavez of Monterrey, Mexico; Vanessa Chavez-Gallardo of San Antonio, TX, Veronica Chavez-Hernandez of Houston, Texas, Valeria Kristina Chavez-Rodriguez of Katy, TX, and 9 grandchildren Elena Elizabeth Gallardo, Aaron Daniel Gallardo II, Gabriel Gallardo, Julian Gallardo, Hailie Alysandra Chavez, Adryana Selene Hernandez, Elyana Josephine Navarro, Angel Lizet Rodriguez, Abel Leonardo Rodriguez and 2 great grandchildren Jayla Sophia Vasquez, Camila Elena Villarreal, and many other family members and friends.
Antonia was an honorable wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, friend, and dog mom, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The Chavez family would like to give a special thanks to the St. Lukes Hospital and staff who took great care of her in her final days of life.
