Wesley DeWayne Davis, 78, Blue Springs, Mo. passed away Sunday, May 14th, 2017. He was born, January 30th, 1939 at home in Maysville, Mo, the son of Wesley Malone and Sylvia Marie (Hunsucker) Davis. On June 16th, 1963 he married Patricia Kay Keller in King City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Romey Clayton Davis, and sister Cleta Mae Workman. Upon graduation from high school in 1957 he enlisted in the Air Force, and later served in the Reserves, with distinction until his honorable discharge in 1964. He started his career at the Mo. Highway Department in St. Joseph, Mo. and Robins Lighting Protection in Maryville, Mo. in 1963. While there he made a decision to attend Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Mo. receiving his BS in Theology. After graduating he began ministering congregations in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois. He was a bio-vocational minister and established new congregations in Litchfield, Ill. and Cameron, Mo. along with many other pastoral positions of service in the NW Missouri area through the years. While raising a family he established Davis Building Supply in Cameron, Mo. and later Mid-Continent Lumber in Lee's Summit Mo. After many years he decided to begin designing and building homes in the Kansas City Metro area, working with many local builders in the residential and commercial design industry. In his latter years he worked as a Realtor and at one time owned Source One Realty and Mortgage. Even after retirement he continued his love for design and shepherding others in the Lord. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia; sons Mark Lee Davis of Shell Knob, Mo., Matthew Wayne Davis, Grain Valley, MO. and daughter Jody Kay Davis, Blue Springs, MO.. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren; a sister Lorene Lois Gaiser of King City, MO. and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 7:00p.m. May 22nd, 2017, at Legacy Christian Church, 2150 E Langsford Rd., Lee's Summit, MO. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Luke's Foundation, SLCI Patient Assistance Fund, 4225 Baltimore, Kansas City, Mo. 64111.
