A Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Village on Antioch, 14895 Antioch Road, Overland Park, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00am at Village on Antioch.
Vivian was born November 4, 1951 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Lewis and Dolores Ward. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Jason Reinhard, daughter Andrea (Spencer) Mahurin, granddaughters Stella and Lucy Mahurin, and sisters Karen (Michael) Joy and Patti Ward.
Vivian was a graduate of The College of Steubenville and received her Masters of Science from New Mexico State University. She worked as a computer programmer for Bendix, a college math professor and private tutor. Vivian greatly enjoyed being with her family, baking award winning apple pies, watching Jason’s band, playing with her granddaughters, creating costumes and set design for church youth musicals, writing curriculum for children's ministry and volunteering in many other ways.
Vivian wrote that the greatest joy in her life has been experiencing her two children develop into wonderful, thriving, responsible adults, each in their own unique way. She was so proud of them! She was blessed beyond measure being the mother to Jason and Andrea. Being GiGi to Stella and Lucy brought her so much happiness!
Vivian wished to thank the many people that cared for her during her illness:
Dr. Mark Hamblin, NP Kristina Delaney, Dr. Jennifer Schultz, Mark, Barb and Delaney Garcia, Neighbors Kathy Larson, Steve and Jan Chapman, Anne Squitieri, Jeanine Elias, Clark King, Carol Wood, Scott and Tammy Burchett, among others. Bill and Shelley Etzenhouser, Bruce and Jan Zimmerman, Theresa McChesney, Nancy Wang, Mary Deas, Marilyn Shopper, Karen Davis, Jason Reinhard, Andrea and Spencer Mahurin, Patti Ward and Karen Joy.
