Stella was born January 6, 1928 in Chicago, IL to immigrant parents from Lithuania, Pauline and Joseph Matuzas. Stella was very proud of her Lithuanian heritage, as well as the rest of her family. She married the love of her life, Howard Raymond Null on August 21,1945. Once they met, they were inseparable, and shared 65 years of happiness until his passing in 2010.
Stella and Howard were proud to have traveled to all 50 states, loved to dance, and were very involved in the Ararat Shrine, as well as the church. Stella enjoyed playing the piano, possessed amazing cooking skills, and had a way of bringing out the best in the people she had met. Stella was a member of the Shrine Temple Needle Guild for many years, putting together quilts for the Shriners Hospital for Children. Stella was also active in the community, and was a volunteer at Independence Regional Hospital. Stella was a devoted church member at St.Paul United Methodist Church for over 60 years, and was a founding member of the church. Stella had been employed by Burlington Northern Railroad, Whitaker Cable, and Sears from where she retired.
Stella was preceded in death by Joseph Matuzas (father), Pauline Matuzas (mother), Melodie Veach (great granddaughter) and Howard Null (husband).
She is survived by Kimberly Ann Brown (daughter), Brian Keith Null (son), Angela Veach (granddaughter), and Michael Veach (great grandson). Along with many dear and close friends including Mrs.Carol Anderson, Brian's biological mother, whom she has been very close to for over the past 30 years.
A visitation will be held from 1-2PM, service to begin at 2PM, on Friday, July 30, at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.
