A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends on Friday, June 10th, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
Shawn was born on May 2, 1978 in Kansas City, Missouri to Tom and Cindy McCormick. Shawn attended school at Archbishop O'Hara High School, Longview Community College, and then made the decision to pursue a career as an electrician with the IBEW Local 124 in Kansas City, Missouri, where he remained a proud union member. Shawn married Krissy McCormick on September 9, 2006, and they had two children Kellan (7), and Everly (4). Shawn loved to chase his children around, teach them to play sports and spend as much time as possible with them. He had a contagious smile and loved motocross, the Chiefs, to play pranks, tell jokes and laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Cindy McCormick. Shawn is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Krissy McCormick, son Kellan and daughter Everly, sister Heidi Monaghan (John), mother-in-law Darlene Ahner, father-in-law Kent Van Deusen and mother-in-law Susan Van Deusen, sister-in-law Kelly Linn (Eric), brother-in-law Ryan Van Deusen (Sarah), sister-in-law Sarah VanMattson (Chase), sister-in-law Briana Van Deusen, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
