Ruth Welch, 80 years old, passed away June 28, 2015 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Ruth was born February 25, 1935 in East Prussia, the daughter of Otto and Lydia Dumasch. Ruth came to America in 1959 and started a new life at the age of 24. She was a very talented woman who volunteered her time crafting hundreds of blankets, hats and scarves for those in need. Ruth was a very compassionate, loving person that most of all loved her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Welch and a brother, Helmut Abend. She is survived by her daughter Tina and husband Danny, grandchildren, Stephen and Kirsten and several cousins who reside in the Kansas City area. Visitation will be from 1 pm until service time at 2 pm, Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Burial will follow.
