She graduated from Young High School in Independence, MO. She met her husband, Gerald Congdon, in Kansas City, MO, where they both worked at St. Mary's Hospital. They married May 24, 1980 and birthed their two children in the hospital where they both met.
In her younger years, Rosa was an active member of the Salvation Army Church in KC, MO and enjoyed ringing bells for them at Christmas time and serving meals to the homeless. She loved her animals, her soap operas, movies, reality TV shows, listening to the oldies on her front porch, collecting wind chimes, seeing her grandchildren and family, and getting around town on the KC MO metro busses. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother.
She is joined in Heaven by her parents, Arlie Clark Wells and Naomi (Fairless) Wells, and her Uncle Glen M. Gibeson Jr. and Aunt JoAnn Gibeson. She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald (A.K.A. "Jerrio") Congdon, daughters Melinda Congdon and Jayné Zamora, sisters Edna (Wells) Leak of Lincoln, Nebraska and Nova (Wells) Smith of Independence, MO, and her loving grandsons, Romeo Morales - age 16 and Daniel (A.K.A. "Peanut") Morales - age 10. Her beloved family and friends look forward to meeting Rosa in Heaven in God's timing.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Friday, June 30 at Drexel Hall, 3301 Baltimore Ave., Kansas City, MO 64111, followed by the Funeral service at 11 a.m. Committal service will follow at Forest Hill and Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64131.
