Robert I. Whalen

Robert I. Whalen (Bob) completed his life's journey on Tuesday, November 6th passing peacefully at home. He was born July 29, 1928 and was 90 years old. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army. He retired as Assistant Vice President of Home Savings in 1992. Following retirement Bob spent 10 years working at Keller's Flowers being their most requested florist. Bob was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church since 1971 making many friends over the years.

Bob was proceeded in death by his parents John & Almeda Whalen, his brother John Henry Whalen, his sister Kathleen Darden and his sister Barbara Spaulding. Bob's companion of many years, Richard Johannes, passed in 2008.

He is survived by his brothers James Whalen and Larry Whalen. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 10th from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence, MO. Mass will follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, MO following mass.
