Born December 13, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Deceased June 17, 2021 at his home in Blue Springs.
Spent most of his life in the Kansas City area. A grad 1945 of Central High School. He Joined the Navy soon after graduation. Not too long after returning home from the service he met the only girl he ever loved, Doris Walkenhorst, also a Central High Grad. Bill and Doris were married November 17, 1949.
Bill enjoyed playing cards, bowling, shooting pool and playing ping-pong. But golf was “Number One” from the early age of 14.
He also liked his family of all girls. In his democratic home, family activities were usually decided by vote. The fact that he never won didn’t seem to bother him too much.
In more recent years he especially liked family gatherings of his three daughters and their families including his great-grandchildren.
Bill spent over 25 years with the Folgers Coffee Company. Most of those years in the advertising department. He also did some interior decorating after leaving Folger’s in 1976.
