He was born on July 19, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to Earl and Eleanor Woodworth. He married Karen in 1966.
Dick was much like a soft boiled egg, hard on the outside and soft on the inside and that’s no yoke.
Although he didn’t openly show emotion, he deeply cared for his family often placing the needs of others in front of his own. Dick was a hard worker, highly creative, loyal and some may even suggest stubborn and set in his ways.
Before he became grumpy bear he enjoyed fishing, traveling to Illinois to visit dear friends and competing with the neighbors in who had the best lawn.
Even though he was not physically on the field with the team he continued to be the arm chair quarter back every Sunday expressing his displeasure of how the Kansas City Chiefs would normally play.
He was preceded in death by daughter Shannon, his parents, his sisters Jean Birch, Nadine Wright, Betty Larimore, and brother Robert Woodworth.
He is survived by wife Karen, son Brian Woodworth, grandson Vincent Torello, granddaughter Krystal Torello, sisters Jo Ann Broyles, Bonnie Williams, Sue Arnold and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give special thanks to all those who made Richard’s life more fulfilling.
