Pattie was born March 17, 1955 in Kansas City. She attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School through 7th grade; 8th and 9th grade at Antioch Junior High School and then graduated high school from Oak Park in 1973.
Pattie spent the bulk of her working career at the Kansas City Regional Center, Division of Developmental Disabilities. She began November 19th, 1990, as a clerk typist II and was promoted to clerk typist III on July 1, 1996. She was promoted to Administrative Office Support Assistant on September 1, 2002. She remained in that position until she retired on May 1, 2018. Beginning on May 5, 2018, Pattie became the administrative assistant at Center for Human Resources (CHS). She retained that position until her retirement on April 20, 2022.
Pattie’s biggest love was entertaining and hosting family dinners on holidays, special occasions and spontaneous get togethers. Her kitchen was her favorite room of the house. No one ever left hungry and everyone took food home to last a couple of days. She was a highly compassionate person and everyone loved her humor, wit and laughter.
Pattie practiced the Catholic faith her entire life and always tried to live by the beatitudes. She genuinely exemplified that getting recognition was not the stimulus for good deeds.
Pattie was a forever loyal and avid Chief’s fan, for better or for worse! It was considered advantageous to one’s health to never interrupt her during a Chief’s game! That would end up, “for worse”!
Pattie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Evelyn Mauton; two brothers, Doug Mauton and Robert Mauton.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry Colling, of the home; one son, Alan Colling and wife Lindsey of Woodbury, Minnesota; one grandson, Anderson Colling, also of Woodbury, Minnesota; three brothers, Larry Mauton and wife Sondra of Kansas City, Missouri, Richard Mauton and wife Nikki of Smithville, Missouri, and Ronnie Mauton of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Janice Green and husband Chuck of Gladstone, Missouri, and Mary Kay Mauton of Kansas City, Missouri; and one sister-in-law, Ivonne Mauton of Leavenworth, Kansas.
