She graduated from Maryville High School in 1937 and from Hagee Beauty School in Maryville the following year. Milly moved to Kansas City in her early twenties, where she met Envoy, her husband to be and love of her life. They raised their family in Kansas City and Roeland Park. She was an accomplished seamstress. She made clothes for herself and her daughter. Milly also designed stuffed animals and doll clothes. In later years she did countless hours of volunteer work, including quilting and crocheting. She made baby blankets and hats for hospitals in the community. She was an avid bridge player and was known for her keen sense of humor, which she shared with all. Milly adored children and animals and was a friend to everyone she met.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Jennie Foster; husband of 52 years Envoy Brewer; brother Carl Foster and wife Irene. She is survived by her son Ed Brewer and wife Lorraine of Lenexa, KS; daughter Virginia Wonder and fiancé Bob Jensen of Overland Park, Kansas; grandsons Blair King and wife Kimberly of Seattle, Washington, Brian King and wife Amy of Castle Rock, Colorado, Nicholas Murphy of Lenexa, Kansas, Bryon Murphy and wife Erin Murphy of Shawnee Kansas; great-grandchildren Hailey King, Carter King, Brittany Naidu and Kyle Harfst and great-great grandson Lucas Naidu.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 10 at Mount Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
