Mary Jane Maynard, 55, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011, at St. Joseph Medical Center. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Entombment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery Faith Mausoleum. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor’s favorite children’s charity. Mary was born October 9, 1955 in Lebanon, Missouri, daughter of Wilbur Ira and Amy (Brown) Chambers. She worked as a life insurance underwriter. Mary was a loving mother, a wonderful aunt and the best grandma a kid could hope to have. She was the best friends a person could ask for. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she gave unconditional acceptance to everyone she knew. Her faith carried her through every day of her life, and shaped the person she was. She always had time for anyone who needed it, and was willing to sacrifice anything to help someone. She was a driven person, but that is what made her great. There are so many things to say to describe her, and anyone who knew her knows them all. Mary deserved better than anything life could ever offer her, but was grateful of everything she had. Mary is survived by her loving family and friends.
My mother's love for me was so great I have worked hard to justify it. (Marc Chagall)
Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination, nor both together go to the making of a genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius. (Mozart)
A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. (Washington Irving).
