Mary "Mickey" Lickteig

Mary M. “Mickey” (Dalton) Lickteig, age 71, passed away Saturday, September 1st, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 8th at 11:30 a.m., St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, KCMO 64131. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., prior to Mass. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30. Private burial.

Mickey was born in Kansas City to Patrick J. & Eileen M. (Heider) Dalton on June 25, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl (Tic), her parents, and her brother Michael Dalton. Mickey attended Redemptorist grade & high school and Mt. St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS where she met Carl. She is survived by her sons, Glenn (Amy), Paul (Debbie), Michael, & Carl Jr. (Stephanie) and 4 grandchildren whom she took great pride and joy in, Maximilian, Grace, Mitchell & Samantha. Brothers Tim Dalton (Jody) and Patrick Jr., sisters, Kathy Cipolla (Peter) and Debra Thornburg (Jeff), sister-in-law Mary Vernassie, nieces & nephews and extended family members.

Mom was an amazing woman who raised 4 boys in a loving home. She was married to the love of her life for 46 years and cared for Dad during his fight with cancer which ended in August 2010, only to learn one year later that she too would be fighting her own personal battle with cancer. We take comfort in knowing that Dad was at Heaven’s Gates welcoming her into the arms of God and she will be at peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses & memorial gifts be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church & K.C. Hospice, 9221 Ward Pkwy., Ste. 100, KCMO 64114.
