Mary Anna Jones

She was born February 7, 1932, in Sedalia to Roy and Ethel (Hon) Martin. Mary united in marriage with Richard Jones on June 11, 1948, in Kansas City and was married for 71 years. She was a homemaker, working in retail and manufacturing. She was a member of Connection Point Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Raytown). She was known for her love for Jesus, for her family, a hearty curiosity for life in God’s creation.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a son-Gregory Scott Jones, seven siblings, William Bennett, Roy Harvey (Bud), Dorothy Neil, Kathryn Irene, Donald Eugene, Helen Louise, twin brother-Kenneth Wayne, and a daughter-in-law-Virginia ‘Kathy’ (Byrd) Jones, and one grandson-Matthew Jones.

Survivors include two sons, Richard of Newark, TX, Steven, and his wife Kathie of Chillicothe, and one daughter, Debra Wheeler, her husband Dennis of Estero, FL, daughter-in-law Susan Jones of Lee's Summit, MO, eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Dennis Ray and wife Mary of Independence, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled at the Floral Hills Chapel and Cemetery on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Larry Thomas officiating. Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Connection Point Church of Raytown.
