Mary Garcia Brightwell

Mary Garcia Brightwell, 76, of Kansas City, MO passed away on Feb. 6, 2012 at her home. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. on Sat. Feb 11th at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, with a celebration of life reception following at 3 p.m. at Guadalupe Center, 1015 Avenida Cesar E. Chavez, Kansas City, Missouri 64108.

Mary was born on May 1, 1935 in Faribault County, MN to Abraham and Josephine Garcia. She was preceded in death by brother, Jesse Garcia, and sister, Victoria Gutierrez. She is survived by her children, Steven, Randall, and Monica; siblings, John and Helen Garcia of Kansas City KS, Abraham and Beatrice Garcia of Kansas City KS, Esther Reyes of Kansas City MO, Molly and Chano Garcia of Kansas City MO, Helen Cecena of Kansas City MO, Delores and Fred Briseño of Kansas City MO; Lali Garcia, sister-in-law, Jesus Guitierrez, brother-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grand nieces. The family would like to thank Catholic Charities Hospice, Mary’s nurse, Tom, and a special family friend, Scott C. Mary’s warmth, humor, and unselfish love for friends and family will be missed.
