With profound sadness, we announce the untimely loss of Mario Torres, who departed from this world on March 20, 2025 (10:30am) with music and family at his side. At the age of Sixty-Six (66), his absence has created a significant void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He now joins us by our sides with his Mother Josephine and Father Manuel.
Born on March 6,1959 in Kansas City, MO, Mario was a lively and passionate soul whose joy for life was infectious. He was a vibrant and spirited individual whose warmth and enthusiasm for life were contagious. The dynamic and enthusiastic individual whose zest for life was truly remarkable. As a devoted father to Travis and a caring brother to Anna and Michael, he always placed his family at the forefront of his heart. His commitment to their well-being was steadfast, and the love he shared will continue to resonate with those he leaves behind.
In his professional life, Mario strived for higher learning by accomplishing three Master’s Degrees, climbing the ladder to retire early from AT&T and eventually living his passion by becoming a Massage Therapist. As a Massage Therapist he become a teacher, healer and energy Reiki Master. He earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues, not only for his skills but also for his kindness and willingness to support others. He was known for his exceptional work ethic, integrity and the willingness to provide all his energy to heal others. His peers admired him not just for his professional accomplishments but also for his generosity and readiness to assist others. He strived to be self-less and became the definition prior to transferring his energy into the next life.
He is survived by his son, Travis; his sister, Anna; his brother, Michael; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and clients which were family as well. The shock of his sudden loss is profoundly felt by family and friends alike, and he will be sorely missed by all fortunate enough to have known him.
Dad, your presence will forever remain in our hearts, and your legacy of love will continue to inspire us all. Below is his last note he wrote the day before his brain surgery on November 27, 2024.

“Marry Yourself”
Sologamy is the act of marrying yourself. It’s not legally recognized, but you can have a cultural ceremony during which you make vows of commitment to love and respect yourself, until death do you part.
