Marian A. Ciacco, 91, formerly of Monroe Center, IL passed away peacefully on September 27, 2011, at Villa St. Joseph, in Overland Park, KS . Marian was born on May 14, 1920 in Hampshire, IL to Leon and Jessie (Shirey) Irving. She was one of eight siblings.
She married Peter J. Ciacco on August 30, 1946, at the Old Stone Church in Rockton, IL. From 1961 until 1974, the two of them owned and operated the “Farmer’s Lounge” (Pete and Marian’s) in Monroe Center, IL. During the years in Monroe Center, Marian made many lifelong friends and memories.
Marian was predeceased by her husband in 1977.
Always an adventurer, she lived in St. Louis, Dallas, Denver and Seattle before “retiring” in the Kansas City area in 2005. Marian enjoyed antiquing and watching the Cubs…
She is survived by her son Peter J. Ciacco, Jr., Leawood, KS.; his wife, Marcia A.; and grandsons Matthew R. Ciacco, Kansas City, MO.; Brett J. Ciacco, Seattle WA.; and granddaughters Cary M. Ciacco, Breckinridge, CO.; and Courtney M. Ciacco, Leawood, KS.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Monroe Center Cemetery in Monroe Center, Illinois.
