Louis A. Springer, Jr., 76, passed away September 30, 2020, at his home in Kansas City, MO. He was born January 18, 1944, in Kansas City to Louis and Agatha (Baker) Springer, who preceded him in death.
Lou graduated from Northeast High School. Upon graduation he joined the Army and served at Ft. Devens MA and Frankfurt, Germany as a communications specialist. After the military he pursued classes at junior college and became a Kansas City, MO police officer. During that time he founded LASCO Builders and started building homes in the northland. Following his retirement from KCPD he made LASCO a full time endeavor and continued until a year before his death. With an astute knowledge of history, love of books and movies, and a gift of gab, Lou was known to be a fierce debater. He often would argue just for the sake of arguing, and many friends can attest to his stamina in that regard. He traveled a lot in his younger years, especially cherishing his time in England. He was a true anglophile.
He is survived by his sister, Christine Mitchell, of Blue Springs, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
Visitation will begin at 10:00AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00, Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Rd, KCMO. 64119.
Masks are required and social distancing will be observed. The service will be livestreamed on Facebook live for those unable to attend.
