Lorraine Ann Murray-Shikles

Davis L. Shikles regrets announcing the passing of his beloved wife of 16 wonderful years. At 84 years old, Lorraine Murray-Shikles was born in Kansas City on November 3, 1939, and passed away peacefully at her home on October 19, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Lorraine was predeceased by her middle son, Scott L. Murray, and her brother Delbert Tally and her parents, Wesley Tally and Elsie Tally. She is survived by her children, Cameron Murray and Landon Murray, and her remaining siblings, William Tally and Glenda Kelly, Ryan Kelly (nephew), Shannon Newman, Jamie Colbern, Diana Dixon (nieces) and Sherri Bond (stepdaughter).

She attended Avila College with a degree in nursing and later earned two master's degrees, one for art therapy and the other for psychology. She was a clinical psychologist for 25-30 years, including a charge nurse in the operating theatre. She retired from KU Medical Hospital.

Lorraine had a passion for drawing and was a very gifted artist. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She will be loved and missed.

Services will be held at the Wesley Chapel at the Church of the Resurrection (COR), Leawood, Kansas on November 23 at 12 noon. Reception following.
