Leonard A. Harris

Leonard Harris, 82, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away January 11, 2017. Visitation will be 6-8pm, Tuesday January 17, 2017. Funeral services will be 10am, Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Floral Hills. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. Leonard was born August 5, 1934, in Kansas City, MO. He was a lifetime Jackson County resident, attending Central High School in Kansas City, MO, and was a tool and die maker by trade. He retired from Armco Steel in 1990. In retirement he worked part-time for Paragon Electric, Blue Springs, MO., and was a Jackson County Election Judge for over 30 years. Leonard was of the Assembly of God faith, member of Ararat Shrine, Scottish Rite, Raytown Masonic Lodge #391, and Raytown Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Leonard and Shirley were married June 1955, and she survives of the home. They were blessed with two sons: Charles Harris, Independence, MO; and Richard Harris and his wife, Amy; Oak Grove, MO, who also survive him. Other survivors include his brother, Jack Harris, Minnesota; and sister, June Boyd, Washington; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
