He was born on September 2, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a graduate from Sumner High School. Pete attended Kansas City Kansas Community College and became skilled in the automotive industry by attending an automotive technical trade school. As an entrepreneur, Pete owned his own gas station in Kansas City, Kansas. Pete worked for General Motors over 30 years (into retirement) while still working as an entrepreneur owning many rental homes and other properties.
Pete was a wonderful person and had a delightful sense of humor. He was loved by all and knew no stranger. Pete loved to travel across the country in his RVs. He traveled to 47 states during his lifetime. He said he never made it to the Carolinas (not sure what that was about).
Besides traveling, Pete had a passion for fishing, hunting and spending time with family. He was an early bird, waking up before dawn and sleep by early evening. Pete would wake up and head to the lakes before dawn to get that fresh catch. His favorite catch was bass and catfish. Pete and his traveling buddies would travel as far as Canada and Alaska to fish and hunt bears, deer and pheasants.
A visitation for Pete will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
