Leanna Kay Gilborne Mobley

Leanna K Gilborne Mobley passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 after a brave battle with colorectal cancer. Celebration of Life services will be at John Knox Village Chapel, which is 400 N.W. Murray Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081 on April 27 2024 at 1 pm. Please wear bright colors. Memorial contributions can be made to Colon Cancer Coalition @coloncancercoalition.org.

Leanna was born January 9, 1970 in St, Joseph, MO to James Gilborne and Jean Winter Gilborne. They moved to Raytown, MO in 1976. Leanna graduated from Raytown South High School in 1988. Prior to graduating she met her future husband Jimmy Mobley Jr. Recently; they celebrated 24 years of marriage. Jimmy felt thankful to be married to a woman whose heart was as beautiful as her smile. We know she is with her mother now whom she missed so much. Jimmy is looking forward to when he can reunite with his love.

Leanna was a CNA for the past 15 years caring for and enjoyed talking and listening to resident’s stories. She stated that working during the pandemic was one of the hardest things she has ever done. Anyone who knew her knows that she was adventurous, loved to dance, chatty and made you laugh.

She was preceded in death by her father James Gilborne and mother Jean Winter Gilborne Jeffries, Step-Father Jerry Jeffries and Uncle Keith Winter. Father-in-Law Jimmy D. Mobley, Sr.

She is survived by husband Jimmy Mobley, Jr, sister Karla Gilborne, brother Joseph Gilborne, mother-in-law Janet Mobley, sister-in-law Nobi Gilborne Hayashi, sister-in-law Melanie Ballinger, brother-in-law’s Chip, Jason Mobley and Brandon Ballinger. Her dear Aunt Caroline and Aunt Patty, Uncle Ed and her very special cousins. Nephews Kohei Gilborne-Hayashi, Justin Long, Kane Mobley and Ritchie Kelly. Nieces Courtney Parker, Amanda Gomes and Lily Kelly.
