Larry Yount

Larry Yount, 77, of Creighton, Missouri passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Research Medical Center. Larry was born in Joplin, MO to parents Bertha (Bobbie) Nadine Hyatt and Jackie (Jack) Vernon Yount. He graduated from Raytown South High School in 1964 as part of the first graduating class from the school. He then served in the US Army from 1967-1969, including one year in Germany. He went on to become an ironworker until his retirement in 2003. He built and repaired many bridges in the Kansas City Metro area as well as St. Joseph, Springfield, and Herman, Missouri.

Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine Yount of the home, brother Greg Yount of Osage Beach, daughter Kim Stanley of Raytown, son Jack Yount of Creighton and granddaughters Bailey, Hannah, Elizabeth and Leah.

A Celebration of Life Visitation for Larry will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 1pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 2pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd Kansas City MO 64133.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in support of purchasing a fish shaped plaque in Larry's honor to be displayed outside of the new Sobela Ocean Aquarium at the Kansas City Zoo.
