Larry Rose, 77, died peacefully in his home with family present on Wednesday, January 3 at 12:25 am. He was born to Richard and Beulah Rose on May 23rd, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was raised in the Chillicothe and Kansas City area. After the family settled in the Kansas City area, he met and married Diane Lawhon and shortly after was drafted into the service. Larry serviced in the US Army as a Corporal in the 1st 82nd Artillery during the Vietnam War from June 1968 to June 1969. After returning from his military service, he spent his life working and dealing with cars, which was his passion.
Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Rose; his father, Richard Rose; and brother, Randy Rose. Larry is survived by his daughters, Alisha Rose-McAdams and Christy (Tom) Burdick. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Andrew McAdams, Dustin McAdams, Brooke Burdick, Christopher McAdams, Abagale Burdick; two great grandsons, Kayne McAdams and Quintin Parrish; and by four brothers and six sisters.
The family would like to thank the Monarch Hospice staff for their care and dedication to him.
A Memorial Service for Larry Rose will be held at the Antioch Community Church, 4805 NE Antioch Rd, Kansas City, Missouri 64119 on Wednesday, January 10th starting at 12:00 pm. A celebration of life dinner will be held directly following the Memorial Service at Paul & Jack's Tavern at 1808 Clay St, North Kansas City, Missouri 64116.
