Kent Earl Davis, age 55, passed away Sunday May 19, 2019, at his home in Overland Park, KS. A memorial service will be held at a later date. He was cremated, and his ashes will be spread along with those of his life-long partner Cyndi Newstrom, who passed in December 2017.
Mr. Davis was born August 23, 1963 in Topeka, KS, the only child of Orville and Corolene Davis. He graduated from Topeka West High School in 1981. He attended Kansas State University, majoring in Industrial Engineering, and graduated in 1985. He and Cyndi moved to LA in early 1986 to begin his professional life working for Naval Weapons in Port Hueneme, CA. In 1988 he transferred to the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration in Kansas City, where he enjoyed a long career until his death. He was looking forward to his well-earned retirement scheduled for his birthday in August of this year.
He had many friends and he remained loyal and grateful to all of them for the good times they shared. He and Cyndi never had children, but instead poured their love and affections into their many pets, as well as their extended family and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his mother Corolene of Topeka, his golden retriever Chammy (Champagne) of the home, and many, many friends and extended family who will miss him deeply, and who are forever in his debt for his love and friendship that he shared so abundantly and unconditionally.
Rest in peace friend.
