

How lucky I am for having known Kenny for over 25 years. As Masonic Brothers we went almost everywhere together. We enjoyed each others company and our views of Freemasonry were the same. Kenny was always ready to help, especially DeMolay, Job’s Daughters and the Lodges in the greater KC area. He served honorably as DDGM and was well known throughout Masonic circles. I was honored to call Kenny my Brother. I will miss Kenny forever until we again meet in that house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

I am heartbroken for all of you. Kenny and Connie were my first true vision of couple goals.  The love and respect you have for each other is unmatched.  Ken Sr  was an amazing positive male role model when I needed to see that growing up.  So many awesome memories.  Continued prayers,  love, and hugs your way.

I’m still now sure how we do this life with out you… All i can do is try to keep everything you built going strong.. You built a strong tough family… I’m sure missing you around here && would do anything just to talk to you one more time or even get one or your lectures… even let you since help me rhonda if that’s what you wanted.. So thankful for all you did for us growing up you always seem to step up when everyone else seemed to be stepping out.. Love your princess 

I remember many trips out to sunny shores with Kenny and Bobby, and Candy.  What fun in the sun when we were younger.  I clearly remember visiting so many times in the house on Raytown road as well as 87 th (?) street.  Time goes too fast but thank heaven we have those wonderful memories.  Prayers and hugs to the entire family.

Kenny, my heart aches for Connie and your family. You were a good man. You were fun, happy, thoughtful and always with a story or a good joke.  You will truly be missed. I was blessed to bowl with you for many years. Watch over us from up there and Godspeed, my friend. 

As a cousin, we had many good times growing up.  We grew in a time when family meant going to each others house for birthdays, going to the bowling alley with mom and dad, aunts and uncles and brothers and sisters.  Oh, the fun we had!  Oh, did you know about the comic books?  We were avid comic book readers when we weren't playing cowboys and Indians.  I'm sure we had our arguments but they didn't last long.  The Best family and the Hampton were pretty close.  I am heartbroken that you are gone, but know you're looking down and watching over us all.  Love you and love your family.  Cheryl

Dad Best … Literally the best ! Jobs daughters and Demolay were such a big part as to what molded me and reflects to whom I am today . My brother, cousins,close friends, and I were very fortunate to be very involved with the lodge  that made us all so close . When I think back to our journey , many adults come to mind, while Dad Best being one of first. The many times he’d given up his mornings , afternoon, nights , and or weekends for us kids . Hauling us around town, even around the state ! He was at every function , and EVERYONE knew who Mom and Dad Best were ! Kenny and Connie were one in the same . Both would give their shirts off their backs for you , protect you , and guide you ! Kenny, you truly made an impact on mine and all of us kids lives . You were famously know for your life lectures that always made sense . (Even if we didn’t want to admit it) Although , God had bigger and better plans , our hearts were not ready to lose such an amazing man . May your memories always be cherished in our hearts 🖤

Daddy I can't believe your gone. Seems like yesterday you where telling me you leaving for to go make beans for the babies, in which I believe you did for the longest time. Then waiting for you to come home from work just so I could get you lunchbox which you always saved something for me. I LOVE YOU DADDY & you will be greatly missed I have so many memories I could go on forever but I'll stop here you where a amazing man dad. Love your little girl ALLISON 

Let me tell you about Kenny Best, I met Kenny through Jobs Daughters when my daughter entered at 10/11 at the Blue Springs Lodge Bethel 48. We started doing things with Demolay since I had a son just a few years older than my daughter. I or should say we were always greeted with a smile and a kind word. My daughter had some issues with a Bethel and Kenny was there beside us to help in anyway he could. Kenny was an honest and caring man. He would give you the shirt off his back if he thought it would help. I spent several mini sessions and grand sessions with Kenny during meetings, dinners and adventures. The only thing I can say is he will be missed he love his kids and grandchildren but I know Connie Best  was always the light of his life.  Not on was Kenny known as Dad Best he was one of the Best dads. 

Kenny's love for Music - He made sure everyone learned  "Help Me Rhonda" - He had taken his children and grandchildren to numerous Beach Boys Concerts from 1978 forward - Even if they did not want to go - He was set in his ways - so they had no option - along came the great grandchildren and he showed them no difference - they as well had to learn the words just like their "ABC's" so this past August when he found out they would be at the State Fair he was determined before he left this world that each one would get the experience of seeing them in concert - matching shirts and all - one final family gathering - so they all made sure - to make Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa happy they would give up their time and make sure this happened. One of his final requests and he was so "HAPPY" a memory he was so proud of.

He had a tremendous love for his children

I can't actually remember meeting Kenny, he's always felt like an old friend.  When he arrived, the members of William F. Kuhn instinctively knew to look to him for guidance and support.  The amount of knowledge he imparted on so many young men in our chapter and throughout DeMolay is tremendous and could fill volumes of books.  He always had a story or general guidance on any topic: business, friendships, relationships, or just being a good and decent human being. His consistent presence and support exemplified who he was, a great leader and friend. It's been a blessing to know Kenny and the whole Best family.

Connie and Family - so sorry to learn of Kenny passing.  We worked together in the Masonic Lodge as well as the Eastern Star.  He was a joy to work with as we planned and carried out the plans.  We were together on the Finance Committee of the Eastern Star when we had to make some serious decisions about our future.  He always came to Marilyn and told her how much he liked her music.  She would play one or two of his favorites.  "Lift your eyes unto the hills from whence cometh our help, Our help comes from the Lord who made Heaven and Earth."  May the Lord give comfort to you and your family.   Richard Houston

I’m really not sure where to begin.. between you coaching me in baseball and bowling to Scouts and DeMolay to the day I joined Freemasonry, and all our trips in between. You were there for me no matter what. You stepped up to fill that father roll I didn’t have and because of that I am the man I am today because of you. I’m so thankful for that as well, I may not have said it enough but I truly am and I will always appreciate what you did for me. You truly were the BEST.  I love and miss you so much grandpa. 

Dad you held my hand when I was small you caught me when I fell. The hero of my childhood and of latter years as well. Every time I think of you my heart fills with pride. And though I’ll always miss you, Dad I know you’re on my side. In laughter and sorrow In sunshine and in rain I know you’re watching over me until we meet again.

I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. I had the utmost respect for Ken. He was such a caring and amazing person. He will be missed by many. Extra hugs, prayers and love for comfort and healing!  

Dad Best always made everyone feel important and like they belonged. He was kind and joyful and his laughter contagious. I will always remember the love he gave everyone he met. 

I also grew up in the 1950's and the 1960's Rock and Roll from the 1950's and 60's was the best music ever made. I always listened to the radio station WHB which played all oldies back then. This is the only kind of music that I listed to today.
