Kathleen Elisabeth McLanahan

Kathleen was born on August 22, 1948 at Seaside Hospital in Long Beach, California. She graduated from Paramount High School in 1966. Soon after, she married the love of her life, Wayne Wesley McLanahan. They went to Lake Tahoe, California for their honeymoon and came back to a draft notice taped to their front door. Wayne left for Germany where she soon followed. While in Germany, Kathleen and Wayne enjoyed their time together exploring their new home.

While stationed in Germany, Kathleen found out they were expecting their first child. Kathleen's greatest accomplishments were being a wife and a stay at home mom to her four children. Kathleen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cross stitching, and vacationing with her family.

Without a doubt, she would want everyone to know the most important person in her life was Jesus Christ, her Savior. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents William and Margaret Vandecar, her husband Wayne Wesley McLanahan, her brother William Lee Vandecar, and her eldest son Gary Wayne McLanahan.

She is survived by her sister Deborah (Vandecar) and husband Thomas Lynn, her son Craig (Stacy) McLanahan, her twins Mark (Rachel) McLanahan and Megan Carol McLanahan, her grandkids John Matthew (Whitney), Brett (Ariel), Garrett, Brooke (Kory), Trenton (Carrisa), Trevor, Katelyn, Madelyn (fiance Trenton), Matthew, and Sierra Kathleen, and her great-grandkids Karson, Luke, Emery, Adalee, Kolt, and Kade.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens (25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee's Summit, MO 64086).
