Kathleen was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 14th, 1966. She lived in the Kansas City area her entire life. She attended Blue Ridge Christian School while living in Raymore on a small farm just off 58 Highway. There she developed a love for all animals. Later moving to Independence, she attended Tri-City Christian School and then Van Horn high school. At age 17 her father was diagnosed with liver cancer, so she stayed home from school to be with him while she could. He passed six months later. She received her GED and went on to UMKC for a year. After awhile she became interested in horses. That is how she met the love of her life; Michael, her husband. She purchased a show horse from Michael's parents' horse stable. Meanwhile; she started karate and earned her black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Kathleen and Michael married September 28th 1985. 3 years later it was at this time they attended Kansas City Baptist Temple where Michael and Kathleen made a profession of faith and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Meanwhile; at Kansas City Baptist Temple she discovered her appetite and love for the perfect word of God, the 1611 Authorized King James Version, and couldn't get enough of it.
David was born on May 27th 1990, 3 weeks premature; Samuel was born April 19th 1992. Kathleen knew the final authority of the Word of God and used it as a manual to train up her children. The desire of her heart for them was to know and accept the salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. As well as have a personal relationship and love for God; "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:". Kathleen homeschooled and taught her boys the art of music. Meanwhile; she earned her second black belt in Shotokan karate. It was at this point you didn't mess with Kathleen.
After moving to Pleasant Hill, she trained and completed a course to be a certified dog trainer. After that she wrote and sold an e-book and other online articles about puppy potty training, she is rated as a Platinum level expert author. While living in Pleasant Hill she enjoyed sketching and painting.
Through Kathleen's life her love for animals varied from birds, many dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, fish, and horses. Kathleen always had a nurturing instinct to love and care for all life.
Kathleen will be dearly missed but we can take comfort in the fact that she is in a better place with our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
