Julia Ann Holmes, 66, of Overland Park, KS passed away October 15, 2010. Julia was born March 28, 1944 in Kansas City, MO. She was a strong Irish woman who made her living in telecommunications. Earlier in her life she served in the Woman’s Army Corp as an X-ray Technician and Nurse. Following that she was a stay-at-home mom. Julie was blessed with great friends throughout her entire life. She enjoyed traveling, watching the Chiefs and playing bridge with her friends.
Julia was preceded in death by her mother and father Ruth and Dris Harnett. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth; son, Daniel Holmes and his wife Becky; granddaughter, Selia Holmes; and two brothers, Dennis and Kirk Hartnett.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64145. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harvesters or Kansas City Hospice House.
