John B Brown, 78, passed away on April 2, 2011 from pulmonary disease. He was born on December 9, 1932 in Skiatook, Oklahoma to Arizona (Ayers) and John Young Brown. He was married to Pauline A. Brown, the love of his life, on January 26, 1955. He is survived by his children: Sharron (Jon) Gasior of Bloomfield, Connecticut, Denise Hampson of Marina, California and John G. (Terry) Brown of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; six grandchildren: Jennifer, Jon, Spencer, Lauren, Katie and Alex; a sister, Louella Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews. John was a Scottish Rite Mason. He served in the US Army for 24 years and retired as a Master Sgt. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 1976. After his Army retirement, he worked for Fountain Valley School, Fountain, Colorado, as the Director of Food Service for 15 years. He lived the last few years at John Knox Village, Lee’s Summit. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 5 at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, followed by funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he will be laid to rest along aside his wife.
