Born Joan Brown on September 20, 1940, in Fulton, Missouri to John J. Brown, M.D. and Katherine (Shirley) Brown, M.D. Beloved wife of Raymond Zook (deceased.) Survived by two siblings: Paul J. Brown of Richmond, Virginia and Mona Brown Freiberger of St. Charles, Missouri. Dear to her heart were three nieces: Camille Brown McMurray, Erica Brown and Dr. Carole Freiberger O’Keefe, and her nephew, Norm Freiberger, Jr. She died peacefully on June 9.
Memorial Service will be Friday, June 16 at 11 am, in the chapel at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory can be made to Village Church.
Loves of her life were Ray Zook, Burmese cats, the color blue, a good book, Pepsi, BBQ anything, creative stitchery – especially on linen, PEO, games of childhood (especially Scrabble), movies, Chanel #5, classical music, shopping and of course Royals baseball! She will be greatly missed.
