Joan Collins

Joan Collins, 81, Liberty, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2017 at Pleasant Valley Manor. Services are Wednesday, May 10 at 11:00 AM at Relevant Church, 101 N Forest Ave. Liberty. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Joan was born January 29, 1936, in Anna, Illinois, the third child born to William and Maggie (Boyd) Wilkins. She married the love of her life, Robert E. Collins, on April 6, 1974. Robert preceded her in death on June 20, 1998.

Joan’s siblings, three sisters and a brother; Helen Johnson, Geraldine Forrester, Nelle Osbourne, and Robert Wilkins, have also passed.

Survivors include her children: Teddy (Dawne) Wilkins of South Carolina, Rocky Wilkins of South Carolina; Jerry Wilkins of Kansas City, Steve (Donna) Collins of Kentucky, Judy (Bob) Johnson of Kansas City, Beth (Dave) Batta of Indiana, Stacy (Tom) Foit of Florida, Cecelia White of Liberty and Sue Blanke of Liberty; along with 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Joan was a volunteer at Liberty Hospital before taking ill in 2016. Arrangements under the direction of McGilley Antioch Chapel, 816-453-7700.
