He was born on February 4, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Raymond G. and Hazel L. (Green) Cessna. Jeff grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Raytown South High School in 1967. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. during the Vietnam war and served two tours and attained the rank of Corporal. He was wounded in action, receiving the Purple Heart, spending 3 years recovering in the hospital, and losing his leg.
On May 22, 1971 in Kansas City, MO he married Pamela D. Meeink, and she survives. He was a lifelong Theater Projectionist for Locals 170 and 31. He served every theater and drive-in the Kansas City Area, retiring in 2006. He was a life long member of the DAV and the VFW Post 4043 in Liberty, MO.
For the past 8 years, Jeff and his wife Pam own and operate Papas Coffee Express in Liberty, Missouri. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known for his contagious laughter and kind ways. Anyone who met him, loved him including kids and dogs. He made people smile and enjoyed joking with everyone.
He is survived by his loving wife: Pam; son: J. "Shawn" (Wife: Brooke) Cessna of Lee's Summit, MO and daughter: Christina (Husband: Mike Welch) Cessna of Los Angeles, CA.; eight grandchildren: Elle, Edie, Adyn, Adley, Alec, Finn, Enora and Mathayus. Also, nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by: His parents and two Brothers: Greg and Mike Cessna.
