Dr. Jay F. Morris, 80, passed tragically away from Covid-19 on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Jay was born April 23rd, 1940 in Leavenworth, Kansas. The son of Charles Everett and Beth Morris. Jay was an alumni of UMKC dental program, a veteran of the United States Army, and was in private practice for over 40 years in dentistry.
Jay was an extrovert, never treated anyone like a stranger, willing to help support others no matter the cost. Jay was passionate about God’s truth, being in fellowship with others and writing his book of Proverbs.
Jay is survived by his wife Ida Moore-Morris, his three daughters; Venessa Morris, Tjasha Teague, Andreja Addison, his grandchildren; Lijana Teague, Lance Teague, Cailey Addison and Kyler Addison, his brother Ronald Morris, his nephew Joseph Morris, David Morris and niece Britta Crawford, his cousins and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Everett and Beth Morris, niece Kirsten Morris and sister-in-law Clarissa Morris.
A memorial service will be held at 7 PM on Sunday, August 9, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.
