Janet Evelyn Grafton, age 80, of Kansas City Missouri passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021. Janet was born in Birmingham, Alabama of her father, Theodore Alvin Morris, Sr., and her mother, Evelyn J. Myers Morris.
Janet enjoyed supporting others to be their best. She began her career in the grocery industry, serving more than 20 years before moving to work for the IRS. As a union steward for the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), she worked with management as an advocate for workers. She promoted the NTEU to workers and management alike. Janet loved animals, especially cats, and actively supported many animal welfare charities. She relished a good movie and savored great food. Above all, Jan loved those with whom she shared these experiences.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Alvin Morris, Sr., her mother Evelyn J. Myers and her brother, Theodore Alvin Morris, Jr.
Janet is survived by her son Bradley Grafton (Daren Davis). She is also is survived by her nephews, Christopher Morris and Collin Morris.
Visitation will be at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 12:00pm. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00pm followed by Graveside Committal Service in Mount Moriah Cemetery South at 2:00pm.
