Harold Wayne Cunningham

Harold Wayne Cunningham, 79, passed away March 8, 2021at home surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass will be held at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 10010 E. 40 HWY, Independence, at 11am with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment to follow in Higginsville Veterans Cemetery.

Harold was born March 28, 1941 in Waverly, TN to Jesse and Mary Cunningham. He served in the US Air Force from 1960-1964. Harold retired from TWA/American Airlines on January 29, 2006 after 39 years as a maintenance mechanic. Harold was a member of Nativity's Parish, the American Legion Post 21 and the VA in Kansas City, Mo. He loved fishing, boating, RV-ing, camping and casinos.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kathern Juanita Rase and Linda joy Scott and a brother, Jesse Ray Cunningham. he is survived by his wife, Patricia Reedy Cunningham; son, Harold Cunningham Jr. (Nancy); daughters, Marie Lewis and Deborah Anne Cunningham (Scott Woods); sisters, Shirley Lyell and Joyce Ann "Penny" Irwin (Sam); brothers, Edward Wright Cunningham (Annette) and David Randall Cunningham; sister-in-law, Nell Cunningham; brother-in-law, Bill Rase; 10 grandchildren; 8 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
