Ed attended Watertown High School where he was the Center of his high school football team. Ed’s strong passion for work began early as he was a lifeguard at the local pool when he was younger before moving on to lay track for the Old Milwaukee railroad during his high school summers.
Ed attended and graduated from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He double majored in Business Marketing and Psychology while also fulfilling his Officer Candidate School obligations for the United States Marine Corps. Ed met his future bride, Sherry Brown, in a Psychology class at Carroll.
Ed entered the Marine Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant and was honorably discharged as a Captain. Ed and Sherry enjoyed Ed’s time in the Corps as they were stationed in bases including Cherry Point and Camp LeJeune.
Ed entered the Financial Services industry in Atlanta, Georgia where his sons, Mark Edward and Jeffrey Richard, were born. Ed moved his family to Kansas City where he became a partner with B.C. Christopher & Co at their Country Club Plaza office. Ed took great pride in helping his clients reach their financial goals while also providing personal service. Most recently, Ed helped lead a team of 6 talented advisors for Stifel Investment Services.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sherry, his sons Mark and Jeff, his daughter-in-law Sandy, and twin granddaughters Haley and Emily Hall.
A visitation for Ed will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00pm at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Prostate Cancer Research.
