Donna Jean (Sloan) Patton

Donna was a dedicated elementary school teacher, working in the Raytown Missouri School District for most of her career. She enjoyed square dancing, clogging, camping and attending blue-grass festivals with her husband, Albert, of 54 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Her laugh was infectious.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents: Robert W. & Lena Sloan, son: Randall E. Patton, husband: Albert E. Patton, and brothers: Harold, Gilbert & Wendell Peterson. She is survived by her immediate family: daughter and husband, Nancy & Kent Devenport (Washington DC), grandchildren: Anne Devenport (Leawood KS), and Drew and Kat Devenport, and great granddaughter, Ava (Fayetteville AR), as well as many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Senior Care Homes and Kansas City Hospice for their care and concern.

A private graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lee’s Summit, Missouri with a Celebration of Life scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, 9001 State Line Rd. #300, Kansas City, MO 64114.
