DOLORES JEAN CARL, First born of Virginia and Austin Carl, who predeceased her, Dolores was born on December 10, 1939 and returned Home on April 11, 2017. She graduated from Southwest High School in 1957; earned a BS in Nursing, graduating summa cum laude, from Missouri Valley College and as a Registered Nurse from St. Mary’s School of Nursing, in 1962. She worked as a RN in Kansas City for nearly 20 years, also serving in the Missouri National Guard as a nurse, commissioned in 1967, the only female in the Missouri Guard at that time. She was discharged with the rank of Lt. Colonel in 1981. She lived and worked in Tucson, Arizona from 1979 until returning to Kansas City in 1995. Dolores was a lifetime Chiefs and Royals Fan. Dolores is survived by siblings Judith Parker, Margie Carl, Kenneth Carl and Craig Austin; nephews Adam Parker and Andrew Roster, niece Laura Parker Floersch, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends in the area. Visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 26th at 1:00pm followed by graveside service at 2:00pm.
