Dionysia (Nicha) Campos, 96, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on September 23rd, 2021, at Maywood Terrace Nursing Home. Dionysia was born on February 6th, 1925, in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Ambrosio and Micaela (Aguilar) Delgado. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Pete Campos, her son Arthur, and 3 brothers and 7 sisters.
Dionysia is survived by Peter Michael Campos, Patricia Campos, Andrew (Dana) Campos, Christopher (Teri) Campos, Margaret Campos (Gary Metcalf), Phillip Campos (Sara Brittingham), and 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Dionysia married Pete Campos on June 14, 1951. She enjoyed cooking, her family, casinos, Royals baseball, bowling, and traveling. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and worked in sales for 40 years with Harzfeld’s and Sears. After retirement she worked (AARP) for the Whatsoever Community Center and as a translator for area public and private schools. Dionysia and her husband, Pete also owned a restaurant, Pete’s Place in the 1970’s.
Visitation proceedings will be at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home on Wednesday September 29th, 2021, at 6-8 pm with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be on Thursday September 30th, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Gymnasium (1029 Bennington Ave, Kansas City, MO 64126) with Burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery (2201 Cleveland Ave., Kansas City, MO 64127).
