Dewey Madrid, 94 of Kansas City, Missouri, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection North Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 26 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64111.
Dewey was born on January 7, 1919 to Andres and Antonia (Garcia) Madrid. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Upon returning from the war, Dewey went to work for the ABEX Corporation and retired in 1991. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara, of the home; five children, Ginger Kagay (Steve), David Madrid (Kendy), Barbie Porter (Roger), Paula Corder and Philip Madrid (Virginia) ; three sisters, Cecilia Lopez, Lucy Medina and Nina Lopez; 27 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 3106 Flora Avenue - Kansas City, MO 64109.
