We worked together at Pritchard. He gave me some good advice whenever I needed one. Although I never met him after I left US in 1991 to return to India we exchanged new year greetings for many years. I just googled to see if I could locate him to renew contact but this is really shocking. My condolences to the family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of David's passing and my sincere condolences to his children and family. I knew David while working at Pritchard and considered him as a most talented and promising young engineer. He will be missed by all.

I'm sure David would have been honored and pleased by what Michael and Melissa shared about him at the service;  You two have grown into beautiful young adults and I'm sure your Dad was deeply aware of your love and gratitude toward him. I am so sorry to hear of David's passing.  I worked for him for a short time and appreciated the hard working and kind hearted man that he was.  My heart goes out to his family at this hard time.  Prayers to you all.

I worked with David for many years at both B&V and KPS.  He had a sharp mind and was well respected in the industry.  He was a unique individual with eclectic tastes and a quirky sense of humor.  In whatever he did, his heart was always in the right place.  I especially admired his tenacity at bringing the “KPS thing” to fruition and I am forever grateful to him that he invited me to be a part of it.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

It doesn't seem real. How can such a light in the world be simply extinguished?
David is one of the most interesting men I have ever known. He is also one of the most devoted fathers I know. His children are always first in his mind and he was a great Dad.
Family was extremely important to David, his Mom and Dad and Aunt and Uncle were always in the conversation.
I have laughed with David until I cried, he could crack me up like no one else. I will miss David's presence here on earth and hope to see him again in the afterlife. I love you man! I hope the adventure you are on now is the best of all.

What an outstanding person he was. He was a great scholar and athelete and a good friend and team mate during our HS years. My greatest sympathies to his family.

We had the pleasure of having David as our next door neighbor for the past several years.  “Mr. David”, as our kids called him, was a kind and generous man.  I will always remember the Easter when he knocked on our door to tell the kids that he thought he saw a rabbit in our backyard and that they should go check it out.  Upon investigation, the kids found the Easter baskets which he had placed there moments earlier.  He will certainly be missed on West 70th St.    Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Brings back a lot of memories of a childhood friendship from long ago, especially at this time of year. I remember growing up together through our church at Eastwood Hills, up and down the street from each other, all through school together, the neighborhood football games across the street from where he lived, and the list goes on. I know how we were raised as children, what our parents taught us, and where he is now! Know, that you are in our prayers!

David was a special person; intelligent, caring, humorous and an incredibly diligent worker.   He was the ultimate professional, by the way he carried himself, treated others and I loved him for being a "half glass full" kinda guy. 

His children and family should be extremely proud of what he represented to his profession, and we will miss him greatly.  Some day I look forward to sharing positive experiences with David's children, how he so impacted others in all that he did, in all who he was.  Our prayers go out to you . .

David was the first engineer I worked with when I joined Black & Veatch in 1991. He was a warm person, and we enjoyed conversations on any topics, not only technical. I am deeply saddened by his departure, and will always have good mamories of him.

David was a very intelligent and a highly skilled engineer. It was a pleasure to work with him over the course of the last year and I truly enjoyed our extended and engaging conversations. .My deepest condolences to his family.

I did not know David all that well but he did bring a certain warmth to the office. He was very funny and always had a great remark to add in to conversation. Hearing of his travels and adventures was always great. He spent time urging me to travel the world. His presence will be greatly missed in our office. Rest in Paradise.

Very sad to hear of David's passing.  David and I were colleagues from his first project at Black & Veatch to his last.  I enjoyed working with David on many projects and always thought the success of the projects were as a result  of David's expertise.  David enjoyed fine food and wine.  I recall he lobbied hard to go to a "good" restaurant when we traveled to San Francisco when some in the group wanted to go to a burger joint.  I will miss seeing David and the lively discussions we had.

To David's family,
David will truly be missed for his great knowledge and the passion for his work. I know that on many occasions he showed the pride and love for his children, as we sometimes spoke on a personal basis. May you find peace and know that your precious memories of David cannot be taken away from you.

David was a friend and colleague, I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing.  Way to young.  We did many projects together and always found time to enjoy life as well.  He always wanted to learn all of the chemistry of the project we were working on.  His humor was such that I sometimes felt he was more English than me.  I still owe him a practical joke or two but I got him with the "moving" sushi routine at a restaurant in Calgary.  We were nearly thrown out.  Most of all, I remember him as a caring individual.

David was a terrific person and a highly skilled engineer. My deepest sympathy to his family and especially his two kids, whom he loved deeply and frequently talked about with much pride.  His passing is, in my opinion, a profound loss to all us who truly knew him and worked with him. This makes me so very sad !

Besides traveling with David to Canada for work, we enjoyed many hours of discussions on a variety of topics.  He was warm and friendly.  He had a great mind than was concerned with vast numbers of topics.  I am sorry I won't be seeing him around the office anymore.

My condolences to David's family.  I enjoyed working with David, and learned so much from him.  He was a really intelligent person who was always looking at problems and issues for new and better solutions.  One thing that stands out to me is how proud he was of his kids, and how much he looked forward to spending time with them.  He will be missed.

David was a really great friend and associate.  Besides being a very bright engineer, he had a great sense of humor.  Everyone here is going to truly miss him.  Our condolences to his family.

My condolences to David's family. I got to know David when I did some work for KPS. It's hard to believe that he is gone and I am sure that he will be missed by family and friends.

To David's family and many friends, please accept my deepest sympathy in this difficult time.  David and I were friends for many years through our work, but our conversations often turned personal and revealed the proud father he was when talking about his children.  I'll miss David's friendship, his keen wit, compassion and vast knowledge.  Peace be with you my friend,  and his family and friends.

My prayer for peace in this time and that family and friends would be flooded with their fond memories of a unique man. David and I worked together closely during our joint tenure at B&V.  What a sharp mind and wit to match!  I remember fondly our times struggling with what happens to ammonia and BTEX in a sulfur plant, to his passion for running, and certainly sharing our common adventures on the Colorado 14ers.  My life is better because of David's infuence!

My condolences to the Steven's family. David was a unique, intellegent individual with a special sence of humor. I traveled with him, ate with  him and shared drinks with him. He will surely be missed by all. May God bless!

My condolences to his family. He was always so proud of his children and their accomplishments. He was a good guy.

David was one of the great thinking minds in our industry. He had the way of bringing in humor at the right time to uplift even the darkest of projects. It was a pleasure and honor to have worked many projects under him. I have many fond memories of him.

I worked with David on many projects.  He was always upbeat and hard working.  We had several great trips to Paris together where he had his midnight double espresso.  I am sorry to hear of his passing.

My condolences to the extended Steven's family; David was a special person and too young to pass so soon.  He was a friend whether hiking in Colorado, traveling or in the office and I will miss the good conversations we used to have.  I remember in 1994 he was kind enough to offer to store my canoe at the Stillwell house as my apartment had no storage.  On meeting last year for dinner in Houston I remember the good conversation and how impressed my children (10&12) were that David was Vsauce's dad, as they were regular viewers of the popular science talks on Youtube.  Rest in peace.

I knew David for many years working and travelling together in projects around the world which allowed me to know him beyond work as a compasionate person, who had a particular sense of humor and a way to see life. We will miss him

Without words, just hard to believe and so sad to hear.  Kept in contact on and off with David for over 20 years and always found him to be honest, very hard working and also helpful to us when ever he could. My condolences to the family, friends and many mutual acquaintances.

I worked for David for about 3 1/2 years, and I will always remember him as a very fair and compassionate person. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

I worked with and for David for many years on a lot of projects. He will be greatly missed by me and many others in our industry. David was one of a kind.  Anyone that ever met him, will not be able to forget him. His quick wit and friendship is something I will always remember.  My condolences go out to his family.

David was a loved coworker and dearest friend. We will miss him very much but cherish the hours, days and memories we shared.
